No experience needed. Just show up and play.

An hour of flag football at Kapiʻolani Park, built for all levels of keiki. Our coaches keep our program upbeat and encouraging — a warm-up to get moving, drills on the fundamentals, and plenty of play. Most kids finish the hour asking when the next one is.

How we coach

Confidence first. The sport follows.

Most keiki who show up have never played flag football, and plenty arrive unsure they belong on a field at all. Our coaching is built around that starting point — every session is designed so a first-timer leaves having played, not having watched.

Everybody plays

No tryouts, no cuts, no bench. Groups stay in motion so keiki get reps instead of standing in line waiting for a turn that may not come.

Learn it by doing it

We teach fundamentals through play, not lectures. Coaches keep instruction short, then put the skill straight into a game while it is fresh.

Meet each keiki where they are

Within the same hour, drills are split by ability — so a brand-new player and a regular both leave having been genuinely challenged.

Encourage more than we correct

Effort gets named out loud. Mistakes get a reset and another rep. Kids try harder things when getting it wrong is treated as part of the process.

Questions parents ask

Everything below applies to both Sunday sessions at Kapiʻolani Park. Tap a question to open it.

My keiki has never played. Is that a problem?

Not at all — it's who these sessions are built for. Coaches start with lining up, catching and pulling a flag, then put it straight into a game. Within the same hour, drills are split by ability, so a first-timer and a regular can be on the field together and both get challenged.

What ages can join?

Grades 2 through 6. If your keiki sits just outside that range and you think they'd keep up, get in touch before booking rather than guessing.

What's the difference between the girls-only and co-ed sessions?

Girls only runs 8:00–9:00 am — an all-girls roster coached as its own group, at a confidence-first pace.

Co-ed runs 9:00–10:00 am — open to every keiki in grades 2–6, with a larger mixed roster and faster play.

They're separate programs on the same field, back to back. Pick the one your keiki will feel most ready to play in.

What should we bring?

Water and athletic wear — that's it. Flags and balls are provided. Sneakers or cleats both work on the grass.

How does booking work? Do we sign up for a whole season?

No season commitment. You book session by session, so you only reserve the Sundays that fit your week — miss one and you simply don't book it.

How much is a session?

$15 per session, per keiki, for the full coached hour.

Where exactly do we meet, and how long is it?

Kapiʻolani Park on Sunday mornings, for one hour: warm-up, skills and drills, then play, with pick-up right on the hour. Coaches adjust the shape of the hour to the group and the day.

Still deciding? The quickest way to find out is to come play one.
